We thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Treehouse Sessions. Becoming ‘involved’ with Treehouse Sessions is actually more than what the statement suggests. You’re not ‘just’ becoming a volunteer, you’re becoming part of the family. We operate an inclusive, caring and nurturing environment open to all members of the community. We offer a gentle, positive experience; socially and professionally, with a community space and platform for expression and freedom, not normally accessible or available to all. We are a team of teachers, musicians, volunteers and freelance media professionals providing exceptional training and work experience whilst broadcasting live, online, high-quality performances, filmed and streamed in front of an invited live audience. No show day is the same, and although we have schedules in place, our work is varied. We have many areas that our volunteers work in, and some of these positions will come up often:
- Digital Marketing/Website maintenance
- Social media
- Research and administration
- Creative writing
- Camera operator
- Stage management
You may be researching artists, putting together a list of social media posts for automated release, writing up reviews on previous artists. You may be video editing previous shows, artist liaison or helping with scripting. You might be setting up show cues, rigging lights and cameras or setting up the gallery. You might help out as we prep to interview our live artists, or work on our website. The beauty is in the variety. What you won’t be doing is making teas, and running lunch orders. All our past volunteers have taken a huge amount from working with us are still working with us, or left all the better for the experience. You can learn more about who we are, and what we do, via our navigation bar.
